Shiatsu is a japanese approach. It works with the principle according to which any discomfort - may they be physical, emotionnal or mental - is an energy imbalance in the body. The body has the capacity to transform its discomforts: it is what we call the natural process. Shiatsu favours a releasing in the body's energetic network (meridians) and, by this releasing, shiatsu accelerates the natural process. The shiatsu approach encourages autonomy: the person discovers what she/he could do with her/his discomforts.
Shiatsu is praticed on a futon on the floor. The person wears comfortable clothes. A session is characterised by mobilizations, by stretchings and by pressures that favour the circulation of the vital energy.
Shiatsu is characterized by it's adaptability: it will never be the same from one person to another nor from one session to another. This approach adapts to the unicity of each person and to the particularity of every need.
